Self Portrait (Challenge Painting)

Oil on 1/8" Gessoboard. Approx 6"x6" SOLD

Here is the next challenge painting. This time it was my turn to choose the subject. I wanted to pick something I haven't painting in years...self portrait. I picked a pose that didn't show my receding hair line.

Wow, all of these portraits are good. You have a very talented group. (I'm with Maureen... is it a closed group?)

Mike, your self-portrait is very evocative and wonderfully original in concept. As always, I'm wild about your brush work and colors. Really a terrific response to our challenge. Thank you for coming up with this subject. I think it made us all reach inside our creative selves more than usual.

You chose a challenging angle (right up the nose, as it were). Nicely done though! These are all great.

Great close-up, Mike!

The unique angle and contrasting colors are what make this self-portrait shine!

I hear ya about the receding hairline. I think mine's starting to go too! But I'm still in the denial stage. (^_^)
